THE POSITANO DRESS

Named for the Amalfi Coast village that everyone dreams of -- the lemon groves, the sun on white walls, the particular ease of a woman who has nowhere to be and nothing to prove.

The Positano is an off-shoulder mini dress with a gathered ruffle neckline, fixed bow at centre front, and faux button closure down the body. The hem grazes the upper thigh in two tiers of ruffled cotton gauze with chain-stitch embroidery in classic blue thread. Wider at the bottom, lighter at the top, with that particular off-shoulder ease that makes everything feel like a holiday.

Cut from 100% double layer cotton gauze -- the same fabric as our maxi dresses, the same craft, simply less of it. Weightless and slightly translucent, it catches light the way only pure cotton can. A fabric that responds to being loved rather than fighting it.

Each ruffle tier is finished with chain-stitch embroidery in classic blue thread by artisans in Jaipur, India. The same hands that make the Sienna make the Positano. The same intention, the same slowness.
