THE MARAIS TOP

Named for Le Marais -- the most considered neighbourhood in Paris. Ancient streets, beautiful objects, the kind of place where women dress for themselves and no one else.

The Marais is a loose off-shoulder top with a single layer gathered ruffle neckline, elastic that sits softly on or off the shoulders, and a fixed bow at the centre front in red. Faux button closure down the body. Two tiers of ruffled hem with scallop overedge embroidery in red thread that falls at the hip line. Wider at the bottom, lighter at the top, with that particular off-shoulder ease that makes everything feel effortless.

Cut from 100% double layer cotton gauze -- pure cotton, weightless, breathable. A fabric we chose because it responds to being loved rather than fighting it. Growing softer with washing, more familiar with time.

The hem ruffles are finished with scallop overedge embroidery in red thread by artisans in Jaipur, India. Small, meticulous, entirely considered. The kind of detail that makes a woman feel that something was made specifically for her.
